Rees Howells, Intercessor, by Norman Grubb

This book is the story of a man who grew up in a coal-mining village in Wales in the late 1800's and early 1900's. It is the story, more so, of a man who completely surrendered himself to be used of God in a unique way--as an intercessor. As you read this, you will discover what an intercessor truly is, besides someone who simply devotes a lot of time to prayer. I was challenged not by what Mr. Howells did, but by the way the Holy Spirit of God was able to work through him. This is an amazing story of a life lived wholly for the glory of God and the exciting and miraculous feats that God accomplished during his lifetime. If you enjoy reading biographies, you'll love this book, and even if you're not a fan of biographies, I think you'll still be very inspired. :-)

I, Isaac, Take Thee, Rebekah, by Ravi Zacharias

The subtitle of this book is "Moving from Romance to Lasting Love."
This book was a quick read for me, most of it things I'd heard or read before, but discussed from a new angle. Mr. Zacharias talks about romance and relationships from a Biblical perspective, using the story of Isaac and Rebekah. I appreciated the insights he gave from his Indian culture and the right and wrong ways you can apply things. He wrote in an almost poetic style at times, so that added to the enjoyment of reading. After finishing this book, I was reminded of how important it is in my life to remember the sacrifices that true love makes and that, although married life wouldn't be a "bed of roses," it can be a beautiful picture of Christ and His Bride, the Church.

~~Recommended for everyone, 13 years and up, single and married.

The Way to Love, by Anthony De Mello

This is a gem of a little book. (and I know that sounds very cliché, but it's true!) Mr. DeMello gives very deep insight into the motives we have as humans and as people following the way of Jesus. I was convicted in my heart as I read and reread many of the short chapters and saw the ways I do not love those around me, but so often seek my own pleasure and good. In the end, I was very encouraged and motivated. He writes in a simple style and I can picture him saying some of the things he writes with a mischievous smile on his face. You won't be disappointed.
